What it is
The bang dai hoc is the bachelor degree certificate issued by a Vietnamese university upon completion of an undergraduate program. It states the graduate name, the degree awarded and field of study, the classification (xep loai: Xuat sac, Gioi, Kha, Trung binh), the mode of study (chinh quy for full-time), the graduation date, and a unique diploma number. It is a single formal certificate, separate from the transcript (bang diem) that lists the actual courses and grades. Older diplomas may use different seals and layouts depending on the issuing university and the year.

A certified English translation is required whenever a US or other English-speaking institution must read the diploma: university admissions offices, credential evaluators such as WES and ECE, and immigration filings. For USCIS, a certified translation needs only the translator certificate of accuracy and no notarization. Common pitfalls on this document
Classification bands, not loose words
Xep loai Gioi or Kha must read as a defined band, not as a vague word like good. The band is what the evaluator needs to weigh the result.
Degree kept faithful
The Vietnamese degree and major are not remapped to a US degree name. Mapping is the credential evaluator job, not the translator job.
Diploma is not the transcript
The diploma proves the award; it does not list courses or grades. If course detail is needed, the separate transcript must also be translated.
